Overtime Sports aligns with the GridIron Academy, a complete football training program.

WAYNE, NJ – The GridIron Academy is a complete skills & technical football training company that offers specific training for every position on the football field. Their traveling program needed a home, and that home was none other than Overtime Sports.

“Two of the biggest obstacles for the training we offer have been finding an open field and battling the weather,” said GridIron Academy Director and QB coach Mark Cummings. “By aligning with Overtime Sports, we can always hold our sessions, rain or shine, and never have to worry about some other event taking place to take us off the field. Not to mention the luxury of being able to train on an open 40 yard X 30 yard piece of Fieldturf, “

The Program has hired some of the best coaching talent in the state, and looks to them to elevate the training offered by standout coaches like former NFL lineman Doug Arenson, and Cortland State standout Wide Receiver, Drew Lascari.

“Sean Thomas & the Thomas family from Overtime Sports have been great at being there for us, and we look for this to be a great, long lasting relationship. With access to this great facility, it will help us expand our services even further. For instance, the main lounge area has a projector and large screen built in, which creates the perfect atmosphere for our film study & and analysis portion of our program,” said Mark Cummings. He then continued to add, “ Keeping everything under one roof not only makes it easier from the program’s point of view, but it also makes it very convenient to the parents of our athletes. There is no, one week we’re here, the next, we’re there. It’s always 321 Hamburg Turnpike. That's it.”

Next Year, the GridIron Academy plans to roll out their series of competitive events at Overtime Sports starting in mid 2010. The intention is build a program that only offers the top level of instruction, accompanied by the top level of talent in Northern Jersey and the Tri-State area. Mark Cummings says, “Look, I’m personally sick of hearing that the best quarterbacks, and football players in general, come from California or Texas. Some have said it is because they can train and play all year round. Well now, so can we. I have a few that I am training right now that will change that perception. One is actually 10 years old. Our main objective is to give every athlete the tools they need to succeed at any level on the football field, and to eventually have every college coach start their search for the prospects at any position here with us.”
